The Career.
The Wellness Coordinator will report to the Wellness Manager and is responsible for the Wellness Team and the quality-of-care services in the absence of the Wellness Manager. When required, the Wellness Coordinator will assume the role of the Wellness Lead to cover required shifts and additional needs that arise within the Community. If necessary, the Wellness Coordinator may be asked to assume other responsibilities of the Wellness Manager.
The Wellness Coordinator will be assigned to specific assignments( ie: COVID-19 ) and responsibilities within the Community, report to and work with the Wellness Manager. This role will provide the current Wellness Team with additional hands-on resource, direction and support.
Key Responsibilities
The Wellness Coordinator RPN will play a crucial role in the operation and management of wellness services within the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with care plans and scheduling meetings with stakeholders
- Promoting and maintaining individualized care plans for all residents
- Managing fall prevention programs and medication administration
- Coordinating wellness services and liaising with healthcare professionals
- Handling infection prevention and control measures, including COVID-19 protocols
- Participating in audits, vaccine clinics, and wellness checks
- Assist Wellness Manager with key responsibilities
- The role of the can be a dedicated full time role or a shared role ie: partial shift with a Wellness Lead followed by Wellness Coordinator role
- May require work outside the usual shift hours to meet the needs of the Community and will be required to work weekends and/or on days the Wellness Manager is not in the Community
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- RPN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Prior experience in a retirement setting preferred
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid CPR certification and vulnerable sector screening
- Flexibility to work weekends and outside regular hours as needed
- Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written English
